2nd Trip 2023
MISSION MARGRATEN PLUS had its second trip to The Netherlands May 22-June 4, 2023. We were honored to escort Dominick Critelli, Eugene (Gene) Zanger and Hank Szlepcsik.
During our two weeks, we attended special events and met with three mayors, the Governor of Limburg and many active and retired military. We also had the honor of meeting U.S. Ambassador to The Netherlands, Shefali Duggal. She attended our Gratitude and Peace ceremony in Mesch. Our Dutch friends who own military vehicles once again drove us to our event in a military vehicle convoy through the countryside. We were invited as special guests to the Netherlands American Military Cemetery for their annual Memorial Day ceremony. We traveled to the Arnhem/Nijmegen area this time and were given a special tour of important landmarks from WWII. Our Education Bridge program was highlighted as we got to meet with students who are a part of our program. Over two days, students and our veterans enjoyed talking in person instead of over zoom.
