MISSION MARGRATEN PLUS was invited by the world-renowned Dutch violinist and orchestra leader, Andre Rieu, to be his guests at his concert in the UBS arena, September 17, 2023. We brought 10 WWII veterans and their escorts. We were invited to join him and his crew/orchestra backstage, first for snacks and then dinner before the show. Andre came to meet our WWII veterans personally before dinner and after the show, he came to our table and gave each veteran an autographed book.
As if all that wasn’t exciting enough… he made a special announcement to the crowd that we had 10 liberators in the audience and our veterans got a standing ovation. Then the piece de resistance, Dominick had been asked to play his saxophone for one number during the show. They dressed him in a tuxedo. Dominick came out and performed like a star.
It was certainly an honor and an evening we shall never forget.
